Emily started her career in the mutual fund tax industry. She then moved into hedge funds and private equity where she worked with high-net worth individuals that ran the funds and the management companies that provided day-to-day operations. The funds ranged in investments from stocks and bonds to cryptocurrency to real estate. Emily became part of the Reese Henry team in 2021 bringing five years of experience with high-net worth individuals, partnerships and S Corporations.

Having grown up working with horses, Emily originally set her sights on becoming an equine veterinarian. However, as she was working on her Bachelor’s of Science at Colorado State University, she found a passion for accounting. She received a Master’s in accounting from the University of Colorado Denver and has since become a Certified Public Accountant.

Emily loves watching sports, especially football and hockey. Dedicated to health and fitness, she works out most days and in her down time loves reading a good mystery.

Why did you choose the Roaring Fork Valley?

“I'm actually remote, since my family has a need to stay near Denver.  I do love the opportunity to be remote!”

What does living the “Aspen Idea” mean to you?

“While I live in the Denver area, I think I am still able to enjoy the ‘Aspen Idea’ attributes while working for Reese Henry. We have a great work-life balance, where we can use time to enjoy recuperation from the busy season by enjoying the great outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and anything else that gives us joy.”

Why did you choose to join the team at Reese Henry?

“I think a lot of public accounting firms say that they have a great work-life balance, but Reese Henry holds true to this.  I wanted to get experience in a wider variety of industries and also with different types of returns. We see so many different types of returns, transactions, etc. and upper management provides a great wealth of knowledge, as well as tremendous support. The teamwork mentality is great.  Everyone is very willing to pitch in where they are needed. Reese Henry has taught me so much in my first year given the variety of industries and types of returns.”
